BANGALORE: More roads on Infantry Road, Cubbon Road and Shivajinagar vicinity will be made one-ways from April 27. The traffic police said the move is an attempt to ease the flow of traffic and reduce accidents. This system will be enforced for a period of one month on an experimental basis, a release from the police said.

Venkataswamy Naidu Road: The BMTC buses will not be allowed from Balekundri Circle to Shivajinagar bus stand on Venkataswamy Naidu Road. Instead, the buses will have now proceed on Queens’ Road, past Balekundry Circle, take a left at the junction bordering the office of the DCP Traffic East and enter Infantry Road, then take a left at the Infantry Road-Central Street junction and proceed to Shivajinagar bus stand.

Guard Cross Road: BMTC buses going on Cubbon Road will not be allowed a right turn to Main Guard Cross Road. Instead the buses will have to proceed further on Cubbon Road and take a right at BRV Parade grounds junction and enter Central Street to reach Shivajinagar.

Central Street Central Street has been made into a one way from BRV junction to its junction with Hospital Road (Hotel Select junction facing Shivajinagar bus stand). Vehicles will not be allowed in the direction from bus stand to Cubbon Road. Parking is prohibited on this road.

Infantry Road: The existing one-way on Infantry Road had been extended till its junction with Queen’s Road opposite the office of the DCP Traffic East. Now, Infantry Road will be a one-way from the direction of Ali Askar Road junction (near Police Commissioner’s office) to Main Guard Cross Road (near Safina Plaza). Parallel parking is allowed from the DCP’s office to Safina Plaza.

Park Road: Park Road connecting Hospital Road and Shivaji Road (behind Hotel Harsha) has been made into a one-way. Vehicles will be allowed from Hospital Road-Plain Street junction to Shivaji Road-Park Road junction. Blue Cross Chambers Road connecting Infantry Road and Hospital Road has been made a one-way. Vehicles will be allowed only towards Infantry Road.
