Notorious criminals and terrorists who over a period of time have either chosen to head for Bangalore or have been apprehended in the City include:
*Charles Sobhraj was arrested in July 1970.
*United Liberation Front of Asom activists were arrested in May 1970.
*Sikh terrorists arrested in February 1982.
*Sivarasan and Shuba of LTTE, wanted for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, gunned down in 1991.
*North India-based Babloo Srivastava’s gang alleged to have links with the ISI were arrested in 1998.
*Three members of the Chhota Rajan gang gunned down in an encounter with the Mumbai Police near the airport in August 2001.
*Members belonging to the Deendar Anjuman sect who had links with the ISI were arrested in July 2002.
