The first visit to the State by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh scheduled for February 12 is likely to be marked by the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Bangalore International Airport, Chief Minister Dharam Singh said on Monday.

The State Government is trying to get the same included in the prime minister’s itinerary.

President A P J Abdul Kalam will also be invited, the chief minister said.
It may be noted that as on date the stated main programme in what will be Mr Manmohan Singh’s first visit to the State as prime minister is the inauguration of the Mysore campus of the Information Technology giant Infosys.

The chief minister revealed the plans for the prime minister’s visit during a inauguration programme at the St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, in Bangalore.
