Agenda for timely work completion

Agenda for timely work completion

Here’s another people’s initiative. The residents of Rajajinagar are out to make a difference in their domain, through the Rajajinagar Agenda Task Force (RATF), constituted by the residents themselves. The Force promises to identify, tackle and find solutions to the educational, health, infrastructure and legal problems of people living in and around the area.

Formed on the lines of the Bangalore Agenda Task Force, the RATF, is the brainchild of Mr N L Narendra Babu, MLA of Rajajinagar constituency. “RATF has been formed to fulfil the basic needs of people. While, the department concerned will fund the projects and development works in the area, RATF will act as a catalyst in hastening the completion of pending projects,” said Mr Babu, who also heads the organisation. RATF will simply monitor and make sure the funds, allocated by various departments, are used for the right purposes.

Five bodies - legal, educational, health, infrastructure and sports - form part of RATF. Each body is headed by former bureaucrats, educationists or legal experts, who are also residents of Rajajinagar. “Our priorities include provision of infrastructure facilities such as benches, toilets and classrooms for the government schools in the area. Health of these school children and doing up the parks and playgrounds in the area are high on the agenda,” explains Mr Babu.

RATF will oversee the completion of pending projects such as the grade separator, the work on the Rajkumar stadium and Ambedkar stadium. Other plans include: familiarising the teaching fraternity of government schools with the latest in teaching and learning techniques, introduction of solid waste management and chalking out a proposal for indoor stadiums in the area.
