Rain turns city into pools of water

The outflow from Bangalore’s Bellandur tank is frothing again, impeding flow of traffic. The froth rose to become a mountain after heavy rain on Friday night. Three years ago, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board had identified textile units that drain out effluents into the Koramangala and Chellaghatta valleys as the culprits. The Board had slapped notices on the offending units and then imposed fines. (Below) Several roads in Bangalore South resembled a river in spate after 7 cm rain on Friday night. Here’s a slice of the city’s woes.
