Madiwala Lake dying?

A letter in the print edition of Deccan Herald:

Lake dying

Sir, The Madivala lake is dying. The lake comes under the forest department which has not done anything except laying a small park for which it collects an entry fee. The lake is almost entirely covered with weeds. People also use its banks for defecating. We hear a great deal about lake rejuvenation but why is this large lake well within Bangalore city being allowed to die?
