Vaastu blamed for City’s woes

Traffic jams, dharnas and satyagrahas - blame it on the founder of the city, Kempe Gowda.
According to vaastu experts, the City's geographical location attracts people in large numbers for reasons good and bad.

Presently, it appears that it is for the bad with saffron-hordes descending on the city — all in the name of satyagraha to seek the release of their comrade, Uma Bharti.‘‘Though no (Vaastu-based) case study as such has been done on the location of Bangalore, geographical location does influence the lives of people in a big way. These anomalies like others cannot be completely removed but can be corrected to an extent,’’ says Srinath, a vaastu expert from Space Arch Consultants.

‘‘Most of our problems are because of our own doing. But geography does play a role in what happens around us. The mentality of people is impacted by the geography of the place. Thus vaastu as a whole does affect the City,’’ says Kishore, a vaastu expert. ‘‘India is considered as ‘pur vaastu’ because the Himalayas border the northern parts of the country. Thus something or the other will retard the progress of the Country,” he adds.

Vaastu apart, people participating in the Satyagraha organised by the BJP seem to be having a jolly time in the City.A few demonstrators from Madhya Pradesh were seen enjoying Bangalore’s roadside culinary delights at Sajjan Rao Circle. When asked what attracted them to Bangalore, they said, “The weather here is so pleasant. We have never experienced weather like this back at home.”

But some vaastu experts feel that the planets are to blame for all the problems. In fact one of India's most famous astrologers has come out saying that the present alignment of planets is not favourable for India. And with Uma Bharti being held in custody, and a so-called satyagraha unleashed against Bangaloreans more than anyone else, the city has become a pivot on which the drama of national politics will unfold in the days to come.
